lol, there is no such thing as 'soccer', outside of the USA, football is football, although i have to admit that football i.e. 'soccer' players are pansies, hugging and rolling about the ground together after the score a goal, falling over in agony at the slightest touch, pure pansies! rugby is a game for men, kind of like American football, without all that pansy protection that the Americans wear!

The term soccer came from the English actually, though it is no longer used there.
To differentiate from Rugby Football, it was a shortening of Association Rules Football. Assoc. --> soccer.
Once I saw the question of whether poker was a sport. I think the same rule applies to chess. If you can get a massage or eat while doing it, it isn't a sport. 🙂

I like the massage part...but cyclists eat while racing for example.
