You ever have a game where your opponent blunders so bad you just want to say, "No, take that move back"? I'm sure my esteemed opponent slapped his head when he saw this. 🙂

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Nc3 g6 4. Bc4 Nh6 5. O-O Na5 6. d3 Qb6 7. Nd5 Qe6 { oh dear. right into Nc7+. } 8. Ng5 { ...or not... } Qd6 9. Bf4 { Just toying with her before winning her. } 9... Qc6 10. Bb5 { Just when she thought she was safe. Black naturally assumes white is smoking something and scarfs it up. } 10... Qxb5 11. Nc7+ { and here is why this was a google hit. }
1.d3 d5 2.b3 d4 3.g3 Qd5 { I actually broke the rule about taking the queen out early. The attack on the H square seemed worth it, since it would stifle white's development a bit. } 4.f3 e5 5.Bg2 Bb4+ 6.c3 dxc3 7.e4 { And there's his blunder. } 7...c2+ 8.Kf1 { Two huge blunders in a row. } 8...cxd1=Q+ 9.Kf2 { I don't know many people who'd keep playing after this. } 9...Qd4+ { Should I have taken the pawn? Figured I'd keep the pressure up. } 10.Be3 Qxa1 { I'm sure there was a better move, but this was blitz. } 11.Nh3 Qxd3 12.Nf4 {White blunders again} Qdxb1 { My blunder. Didn't see fx6 for some reason. } 13.Nh5 Qab2+ 14.Bd2 Qxd2# { All this destruction on white, and I didn't lose a single piece. } *

White's development needn't be stifled if he plays 4.Nf3.
The time control was a shamefully long 10/0. An eternity to three-minute players. So really, there was no good excuse for me to miss the mate in 9. I just suck.

I have from both sides. When playing OTB, I hate winning by default simply because I am sitting on the other side, and I hate giving someone a gift when they did not deserve it. I feel that such results demonstrate the truth of the human condition more than the truth of chess.
I can only play a finite and limited number of OTB games, and I hate wasting such opportunities.
In this format I am not so concerned. Since we can use books and database during our game, I don't have as much personally invested in it, and I can always immediately start another game.
