1. Bxa6 {nice move, if bxa6 Qxa6 leads to mate} Qxf4+ {Here, I'm surprised you didn't respond with 2.Qxf4 bxf4 3. Bxb7 or Nxb7} 2. Kc2 {? Now the move begging to be played is 2...Qxe4+ picking up the e pawn for black} Qxf1 {And the game was back in the balance}
Very nice final mate by the way.
Just a side note you missed a mate against me yesterday

By move 43 and 44 you both must have been running very low on time, because he did not take your bishop and allowed you to miss 44. Bb7 Mate. I don't like the blitz games, because my heart starts beating faster and my blood pressure must rise even more than it is normally. I get enough of that when my time starts getting low at regular time controls.

He could have gotten out of the way I played, didn't see the mate at move 44. Just lucked out getting to mate the exact same way.

Sometimes when I am playing OTB, especially when I am also thinking about not using too much time off the clock, I do not seem to be able to see the simplest of moves that I should make. I usually just chalk that up to old age. That is a common excuse for people our age.

That and the fact that neither one of is even master strength much less international masters or grandmasters. Look at the games of Korchnoi, he is something like 80 years old and still knocking off international masters and some grandmasters.

That's right. He was almost world champion and I was hoping for him to win during that time. He is amazing at his age, but like you said neither of us has even risen to the level of expert, much less master or grandmaster level.
