This is the first round game from a tournament I am playing in this weekend.
I started working third shift hours at my job this last year, and it has played havoc with my OTB play- and my rating has taken a whipping.
I took a little break to retool my chess and rest a bit, and this game is a welcome sigh of relief for me. It's OTB and has a little bit of first round inexact play, and it ends with a two-move cheapo, but these days I take them any way I can get them!

Yeah, looks like Black's just busted after e5. Even Nd5 and Nf5 are covered.

How did you come up with this thread title?? Absolute genius!! 😲😵

I saw your game with a888888, why did you resign? Ah, never mind, I missed your last move, knight, rather than stop mate.

Yeah, I blundered (Post It Note is useless unless one applies it...). I was overdue.
I ended up with 3.5 out of 5 and a 2007 performance rating- I feel that any time my tournament performance rating is higher than my RHP rating, it means I had a good tournament.
I sent you my notes on the game, I found a couple positions very interesting!
Nb5 is interesting instead of Qa4 as d6 is pretty devastating weakness that could be exploited. However, the tactics would be more in the vein of a Sveshnikov Sicilian player so might not be very familiar.
I wouldn't call this game a cheapo btw - yes in this position Black overlooked the one thing that trumps the loss of the Bishop - attacking the Queen! However, from the move c5 onward Black was pretty much strategically lost.
It's interesting that if you had played Qc3 instead of Qe3 earlier, Black would have no saving tactic.
