When your pawn reaches the other end of the board and you get a man back does it go back to your own end or does it stay at the other end of the board? If it does stay at the other end can the player take the new man right away or do you get a free turn with than new man that you just got back?

If you move a pawn to the end of the board, you may swap it for a Bishop, a Knight, a Rook or a Queen. It is then your opponent's move.

Yes.
Your new piece can put your opponents king in check, in case you care to know that too.
