I've always been troubled by the secretive, almost
shameful demeanor with which defecation is portrayed,
even veiled. As if there would be something embarrassing
with performing such a natural, needed process.

Look at it this way: all cultures throughout history
have cultural phenomena around which they bond, mingle
and strengthen their ties, both within the family unit and
in the society at large, e.g. cooking and eating, football,
fist fighting, jousting, etc. Even activities today considered
as outrageous in the Western world are used for humans
to bond! From the top of my head: some African cultures bond
through the rite of passage of communal circumcision and
Maori get together to have their privates tattooed. So, why
is defecation shameful? It cannot be other than because
of feigned hypocrisy and foolish so-called hygienic
standards.

I envision family and friends gathering around a common room
with several potties in which they all sit and evacuate while
commenting the latest news or planning a holiday. And why
not, even demystifying the supposed yikes factor around
the act of emptying one's bowels!

Just picture it:

- Larry: oh, Susan, that sounded like a rusty trumpet, ha!
- Susan: tell me about it! I've been meaning to eat more fiber
- Jane: have you tried All-Bran, Susie?
- John: that's a good one! so, what are we doing this weekend, gang?

Can you picture a better way of friends and family to come
together? Think about it! At our most vulnerable, which is
while we take a dump, humans are capable of reaching out
to each other and bond without the facade of everyday
social niceties and masks. Bliss!

So, I encourage you to tell me one good, logical reason
why this should not be a thing.

Give me a break. People would be taking a dump in different
potties, though in the same area, facing each other.

I am sure there are disinfectants and courtesy flush mechanisms
which can reduce the risk. It's not as if a single person, in privacy,
is not exposed tot that.

I mean, we all get together naked for sauna anyway, and sweat in
the same room and all. Why not crapping as well?

So Adolf did click the exclamation mark I presume. But I assume Krieghoff not to be a natural German speaker albeit the use of "anstößig" for which he gets a bonus point.

Interesting. So we have a non-German Germanophile. I wonder
what the little ubermensch's motivations are.

Your post implies that there is a person imaginable who is not Germanophile 😲

Me bad.

So, can we go back to the topic at hand? Before the Boston Lard's army
thumbs me down into banning.
