This is the result of a known issue with IOS8.

One site reports:

" Apple is aware and says they have completed a fix. It has already been updated in their web kit. But, it is not clear when the next iOS release will be and when that release happens, whether it will include this part of the web kit - it's just a waiting game at this point."
