Help... been playing a game for a while - my opponent has tried to promote a pawn - BUT - nothing has happened for weeks... it's just stuck - I can't delete / archive it nothing...

Have messaged my opponent & he says that his end tells him it's a stalemate.

It would help if you let people know which game you're talking about.
I suggest you check carefully to see if it is indeed a stalemate.If not,send Russ or chrismo a message or wait 'till they see this thread and they'll fix it.
If you post the game id I will check too,and I'm sure some others will too.

If you are talking about game number 352335 against spats, that is definitely a stalemate.

When black promoted the pawn to a queen, that ended the game with a stalemate. You as white can not make a legal move, but you are not in check.

Russ runs the site, Chrismo is his right hand man code monkey. They might be able to fix this problem.

I still think spats needs to click something in the game... but could be a bug!

That's definitely not stalemate. I think spats must promote his pawn. I think the game only checks for stalemate after the pawn is promoted, so it cannot say 'stalemate'. Otherwise there is a bug somewhere.

The pawn has been promoted to a queen,and it is black's move.It is not stalemate 'cause black's king has 4legal moves AND he can move the pawn.If you can't move it's time to call in the cavalry.RUUUUUSSSSS!CHRIIIIISMOOOOOOO!HEEEEEEEEEELP!

Looks to me like we're talking about two different games here. The one I looked at earlier has you playing white, and it is a stalemate.

The one your number links to has you playing black, and is not stalemate.

Ok, this is what has happened.

The game history is showing a promotion - but in fact, this has not yet happened. 'spats' has just moved the pawn, but not promoted it yet.

It is shown as a game that needs his attention - so I'm sure he/she will make the promotion soon - otherwise normal timeout rules apply.

I can't understand why black promoted to a Queen. If he had promoted to a rook or knight he could have gone on to win the game.
I suppose he missed the stalemate.
