What are the top 5 most addictive drugs?
The higher the number, the more addictive the drug.

Heroin. Dependence Rating: 2.89. ...
Crack Cocaine. Dependence Rating: 2.82. ...
Nicotine. Dependence Rating: 2.82. ...
Methadone. Dependency Rate: 2.68. ...
Methamphetamine. Dependency Rate: 2.24. ...
Alcohol. Dependence Rate: 2.13. ...
Cocaine. Dependence Rating: 2.13. ...
Amphetamines.

Why are eight listed? I think that by the time they reached 5, you know, they were like let's keep going...

There should be three columns: snorting, smoking and shooting. The change in dependency ratio would be dramatic.

Four: snorting, smoking, injecting and drinking.

Five, if we include a column for "other", which covers any other method of drugs use; for example, drugs like acid, which is dissolved into the body, usually through the tongue.

I think one reason nicotine is so addictive is due to it's availability.

Imagine trying to quit crack, but you have so many friends and family members who have a rock. Every barbecue, every outdoor event, event restaurant, there is always someone smoking. Every gas station or corner grocery store sells it, every casino sells it, and allows you to use it inside their building. Endless movies and TV shows show characters smoking crack, both villains and main characters; and often, it's made to look cool.

In that situation, crack would easily be the most addictive drug.

Yep, but Great Big Stees said the drugs he dabbled in were not serious, hence my reply that Nicotine was more addictive (than those minor drugs he had experimented in). I don't think he was reflecting on a period of Heroin or Crack Cocaine use. 🙂

I myself dont have a problem with cigs. I am a smoker but average less than 1 a day. I would've thought methadone was more addictive than heroin because of the availability .

The choice should be stoned or gently inebriated, as drunk has so many unpleasant connotations!
Such a subjective question. So many variables to offer any objective analysis.
Personally, with my personality traits, a little gentle weed beats alcohol every time - the artist in me explodes with inspiration and the doors of perception are opened, to use a well-worn cliché.
But I also love a few glasses of good wine with friends for totally different reasons.

The term moderation (a term I like to use) comes to mind though certainly not with the "serious" drugs.

Oh man. I watch it interfere. I mean, light a cig, this interjects inappropriately. It's a war zone.

I don't think I stated that well. Or I think I didn't.

The nicotine addition is pervasive, it is persistent. Everything else in your life is colored by it.

Can doctors even measure nicotene dependency ? The few I've asked couldn't.

Smoking cigarrettes is socially accepted, and therefore smoking as a habit is very hard to quit despite restrictions.
