What struck me about the girl in the video is the evident glee w/ wh/ she attacks the puzzle. She studies the start position for less than a second, obviously has grasped a general 'algorithm' for analyzing specific configurations, and then whirls the rows so fast it is dizzying to watch, w/ nary a false move. And then, the radiant joy on her face at the end is just precious! She's the Capablanca of Rubik's cubes.

Absotlutely nothing wrong being a fisherman. When one has the brain to do anything he wants being a fisherman is the last thing I assumed he would become.
We also need Drs. & Scientists, this fellow was/is brilliant is the point I was trying to make.

It has nothing to do with brains.
It's how fast you implement the algorithm that you memorized with constant repetitive training.
Nobody solves Rubik's cube with brain power.
I use to do this and the basic beginning algorithm takes about 2 minutes or less.
Anyone can learn it and do it.
I still watch the pros once in awhile.
It's very satisfying when you first solve it but then you quickly realize it has nothing to do with brain power.

For anyone that doesn't know, the middle box/color never moves, so those are the points to look for.
That's what they look for and then implement the algorithm method to solve it.
Speed is the hard part. No brains needed.

It's algorithms that are memorized and they work on how fast they can do it. Over and over again.
