he came to my door and took at look at the bag of potatoes and found them to be large and quite nice to the touch. they were ideally ripe and unbruised. i asked him how much and was quite put off by his asking price. no thanks. the market has them for ten cents less.

now that i think about it, though, the ten cents is hardly worth toting them from the market to the car and into the apartment. maybe i should have bought them from him. second guessing is a way of life i suppose. do we ever get it right? i know that if i had bought them i'd be making comparisons every time at the market for months to come, maybe years.

i won't get caught up in that. i'm going to put it out of my mind. that isn't productive thinking. all i have to do is substitute it with another thought and that will take care of it. good bye potatoes and man selling them. i just need to think of a replacement thought. something engaging.

this man comes to the door and rings my bell. when i answer, i see that he has a bag of carrots.

Strangely enough no. I suggested we keep a pig (mainly to help with the
wilderness I call a garden) and the missus said OK but only if its a pet.
Pet!?! .. I wanted to eat it after it had cleared out all the undergrowth!

Then Serbians aren't civilised.

How can you have a decent game of cricket without tea!?

That's only for the players. The public - those that aren't yobs, that is - drink tea.

Unless you're at the Gabba, of course. Then they're all yobs.
