Maybe all political leaders should take a day in the jobs they're directing.

I would replace my frequent insomnia with relaxed, easy sleep every night.

If I may ask, what do you try in order to cope with it or combat it?

One thing I try to do is avoid reading long flame-war threads on this website. And I have relaxation/meditation mp3s which I sometimes listen to. A bit of alcohol can help, but not too much. But tiring oneself out with physical exercise during the day is by far the best way.

Listening to an audiobook by Jon Ronson (and read by the author), i.e. what I'm doing now, is possibly the worst thing I've tried.

I would have thought such threads would cause drowsiness! 🙂

They cause despondency and irritation, but definitely not drowsiness.

You feel drawn to them, sucked in, snarled up, with no way out, like a wordless bystander, paralyzed by the scorn, entranced by the horror of flames? That kind of thing? 😉

Perhaps moralizing at others is an attempt to deny the stains on one's own conscience.

Artificer? Is this still a rank in the British Army?
