Maybe it would have been a different story, maybe instead of statistics he'd be thinking lives and the silliness have been less if the RAF had let him in.
Maybe all political leaders should take a day in the jobs they're directing.
One thing I try to do is avoid reading long flame-war threads on this website. And I have relaxation/meditation mp3s which I sometimes listen to. A bit of alcohol can help, but not too much. But tiring oneself out with physical exercise during the day is by far the best way.
Listening to an audiobook by Jon Ronson (and read by the author), i.e. what I'm doing now, is possibly the worst thing I've tried.

You feel drawn to them, sucked in, snarled up, with no way out, like a wordless bystander, paralyzed by the scorn, entranced by the horror of flames? That kind of thing? 😉
Originally posted by divegeester I went to Biggin Hill for RAF pilot selection when I was 17, but didn't make it as I blew the interview, and probably some of the tests. I could have tried again but was offered my choice of artificer via an NCO route. Meantime I went off the rails.
Artificer? Is this still a rank in the British Army?
