Nope, this is not a post about life in combatative General Forum, nor is it about the silly overrated sport of two men (or women) beating the life out of each other. This thread if about Boxing Day, one of the best days of the year.
It's the best because all the stress of Christmas build up is over, the mood is different, you can stop....feel the different mood...and enjoy it. I like Boxing Day because the football is on TV again, the delicious cold meat lunches, mulling over yesterday's presents, walks in the fresh air and hopefully if you are lucky, no work.

Being someone who spent a large early part of my working life in retail, I hate shopping at the very best of times. Even if I was the only shopper in the town and all the best shop assistants had been brought into serve just me, I would still hate it with the vengeance of Anakin Skywalker in that scene by the lava river at the end of Revenge of the Sith where he's quite upset with Obi-Wan. Shopping on Boxing Day should be outlawed. Seriously.

Typical ignorant wimp.
The 'sweet science' is not only for people with cojones but also
demands discipline, precision, strategy, planning, quick thinking,
perseverance, and a rich understanding of human psychology. Not
unlike chess.

Even with the advent of the internet Correspondence Boxing never really took off.

It has been rainy and windy for the past few weeks except occasional days, but tonight according to the weather forecasts, it will snow heavily in most parts of the country. Mind you, they have been wrong before... 🙂
