Yes, Jerry Douglas is a real virtuoso on the dobro! BTW, I met the inventor of the dobro, a guy named John Dopyera, back when I was 18 or so, living in Escondido Calif.
He was 87 at the time and had a small music shop there. People came from all over to meet him! He was innovating even at that age. He showed me a neck brace system he could adjust up and down with a dime, the mechanism had an incredible mechanical advantage. I never saw it on a guitar, he had developed it himself in his shop there.

He said he sold the rights to the dobro around 1926 for $5000. He was an interesting character!

Looking at the dates, I think he was in his 70's not 80's when I met him.
