His rating has fluctuated from over 1800 to the 1550 it is now. If I was to play him today there would indeed be a 200 gap in our ratings. But I didn't play him today. When I played him or ratings were similar. If that wasn't the case we wouldn't have been paired to play each other.

What part of that are you not understanding? Seriously, it's like talking to a turtle.

In the last 3 months his rating has not been over 1651..which is why I asked you if it took you more than 3 months to play the game he hasn't been anywhere near 1800 in the last 90 days! That is what we were talking about, not what he has been in the last 5 years!!!!

His rating 'has' fluctuated from 1800, showing his playing ability. (It is you who have added the 90 days criteria).

This is just another example of you not being able to follow a rational conversation. 5/6 months ago I played a chap when our ratings were not too far apart. Since then his rating has dropped a little.

It really is no more complicated than that. (Except for you apparently).

According to his graph he may have been a little higher at the time you played him.
