Congrats From Ireland. They have done your country proud.
    Now win it 5-0!!!!!!!
Its coming home ,its coming home

    SING DAMN YOU SING

    JERUSALEM

And did those feet in ancient time
    Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
    On England's pleasant pastures seen?
    And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
    And was Jerusalem builded here
    Among these dark Satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
    Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

    SING IT AGAIN...............................

How come Australia got the chance to win them back after just over a year, but we have to wait until 2009 for the chance to get them again?

    Grrr.

Freddie was giving it the usual "no excuses, we played well" blah blah blah, but we didn't play well enough did we?

Okay we had a couple of batting failures that cost us dearly, but the thing that lost us for this was the bowling - an unfit Anderson and Giles for two Tests was crazy.

Oh, and some of the Aussie batsmen really hit form - Ponting and Clarke.
And Hussey and Clark have been great finds.

No ways, batting cost Eng the ashes.

Brisbane - Aus pump Eng bowlers. Eng make 157. Aus make a few more and Eng can't bat to save the game.

Adelaide - Both sides bat well and Eng throw it away in the batting. Aus chase it down.

Perth - Monty plays gets a few wickets and Eng can't bat past 244. Wicket flattens and Aus thump Monty & co. Eng can't bat for 2 days.

In Brisbane Monty would have done nothing.

Without a doubt batting has been the biggest single reason Eng have lost the ashes.

Agreed, the bowling was average, but the batting performance was We didn't deserve to win them anyway.

    Not agreed.
Our batting has never been amazing.
Over the lat 3 years or so, we have never posted huge scores 500+.
In the last Ashes we never got more than 440 or something.
But our bowlers always (nearly) kept us ahead - we're a bowling side, look at the cricket ratings lists and see where our batsmen are compared to our bowlers.
This time our bowlers couldn't do the trick.

    Agreed.

Bottom line is that England had a total batting collapse in at least one innings in every test so far!

Righto rtq, whatever you say mate!
Just what series have you been watching? 2-1 last year and winning one of those tests by 5 runs, that was luck. What you have just seen is the combination of a truckload of planning and training to make sure we won them back.
England have been playing better than i expected and the Aussies worked damn hard to win these first three tests.
    Suffer in your y-fronts!!!!
