Back before we knew the insuffiencent material check was messed up someone wondered if it would give a draw in the following situation:
Black to move; Mate in 1.
We figured out it wouldn't, but if Russ recodes the Claim Draw, it will be a bit more complicated than if only a king and minor piece exist on each side.
Yours will work, but I figure if he redoes it, he wants to redo it for all insufficent material situations.

I think he should only allow insuficient material draws when it's impossible (even if the other player cooperates) to give checkmate. That would avoid these complications, but still be an improvement on the current system.
