Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (ruled c. 1332 BC – 1323 BC), during the period of Egyptian history known as the New Kingdom. He is popularly referred to as "King Tut." Tutankhamun, the chess player on RedHotPawn, rules the chess board from New York City, US.

I have been playing chess off and on since the age of 13 (age 60 as of Feb 2018). I started playing when I lived in Calgary, AB Canada in 1971 where I learned to play chess from reading a paperback called "Bobby Fisher Teaches Chess." I immediately won my junior high school chess tournament and placed 2nd with 5 other players in a the City of Calgary open tournament hosted by Hudson's Bay Company.

While attending the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, I was a member of the Vancouver Chess Club that met at the YMCA downtown. I participated in every chess tournament that I could and earned a CFC rating of 1800. Metro Vancouver has a great transit system (Bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express), which gives you access to a lot of tournaments every month! I have not played much since then (i.e. 1990) as life got too serious. Ouch!
