I am a 56-year-old recreational player from Port Moody BC in Canada. I enjoy the game of chess for the beauty of an instructive game in and of itself. Favorite Chess authors include Steve Gerzadowicz, Irving Chernev, C.J.S. Purdy, John Nunn, and Cyrus Lakdawala. Though I'd naturally prefer to win, I have found that I'd rather lose a game and learn something, than win a one-sided game and learn nothing.
In the interest of proper gamesmanship and consideration I do practice the following: if my opponent shows disinterest in our game by allowing time to expire, I will issue one (1) reminder and if it is ignored, I will "reluctantly" claim a skull and move on.
