For a long time my mate John and I were playing chess online exclusively and he was smacking the crap out of me. I then decided it was time to do some learning - mostly on openings. My game has improved massively since but not playing John has helped too! :-). Albeit his game has turned to crap now.
Tournament Entry Rating is calculated by the formula (CurrentRating + HighestRating) / 2. The entry rating will never drop to more than 100 points below your Highest Rating.
