Kasparov once came to me and asked:
"Jira, what's chess according to you?" and I replied:
"Garry, chess is like a beam of light, it has enormous energy but no mass."
Garry thought about it for a while and nodded: "Yes, I can understand now why it is so hard to grasp."
We laughed and drank another stakhan of vodka.
