My name is Tony, I'm 28 years of age and I'm a serious chess player from Leeds who has been playing, on and off, for around 20 years. I run and play for Leeds Chess Club (www.leedschessclub.org), I play in the Leeds, Bradford & Yorkshire chess leagues & also play in local chess congresses! My current YCA chess grade is 131 which is maybe around 1700-1800 ELO at 'over the board'. My highest correspondence chess rating was around 2000 and that was on www.chessworld.net. I love to study chess and my favourite chess books are "Think Like a Grandmaster", "Art Of The Middlegame" & "My System" - I have over 200 chess books! I used to play The French Defence and The Nimzo Larsen Attack but am currently working on 1.e4 and 1...e5 vs. 1.e4, I am practicing these openings at correspondence chess as a way to prepare in advance of the new 'over the board' chess season, which begins in a few months. I am also using literature and Fritz Media on the open game, to help me understand these openings more.
