18. dxc6
not sure if this was correct
18... bxc6 19. Ne2c3 Ra8c8 20. Qd1d2 c5 21. Rf1d1 Rf8d8 22. a5
this is similar to a game i had studied, Karpov v Stein 1971 in which Karpov creates a passed pawn which causes blacks pieces to become cramped
22... Qd7b7 23. a6
looks suspect but i did not think the queen a very good blockader
23... Qb7c7 24. b6
creating a passed pawn a la Karpov
24... axb6 25. Nc3b5
look what we get for the pawn, a passer on the sixth about to go to the seventh, an awesome square for the knight and pressure on blacks position
25... Qc7d7 26. Qd2xd6
again this is something I leaned from a master game Yurgis v Botvinnik 1931, with queens off, it will be much harder to stop the passer
26... Qd7e8 27. Qd6xb6 Rd8xd1 28. Rb1xd1 Rc8b8
looks tricky and is tricky but the knight is immune i thought because of the weakness of the back rank
29. Qb6c7 Qe8xb5 30. a7
not Rd8, blacks queen and light squared bishop would enter the game, position is razor sharp
30... Rb8e8 31. Rd1d8 Qb5e2 32. Be3xc5
as long as dark squared bishop stays on g1-a7 diagonal blacks queen cannot pose many problems
