Would be very happy to trade for the bishop, otherwise an outpost on d4 although this would probably end up as a trade.

Was always going to be happy to trade that knight, so I take the opportunity. Allows me to bring my other knight onto d4 concentrating pressure on his kingside. Have a plan a good number of moves deep at this point.

Shifts the rook, now not only is the knight pinned to the queen, but the queen is also committed to defending the knight. The rook is trapped on f1.
