I now have windows 10. Has anyone tried out the windows 11 yet?

I know there always seems to be issues with new updates.

Any Information would be most appreciated.

The lack of response to your question surprises me. But the level of our ignorance to the new OS does not. I haven't heard much about it yet.

    I'm interested too.

It's a good question in an appropriate forum.

The reviewer said it all in one sentence: Win11 didn't blow up even once. That's setting the bar pretty low, compared to Mac OS X.

The improvements are all cosmetic, as far as I can tell. No real improvement in memory use or functionality. Lots of tweaks to layout design and new sounds (bings and chimes), but little in the way of production utility. Face it, Windows is still a toy, a gamer's platform, not a workstation like a Mac.

I don't know about 11 but I use 10 and I don't like the way MS Edge wants to take over when I invoke Chrome. Intrusive and I don't like it.
I wonder if they have figured out even more ways to screw with folks?

Our PC was running on Windows vista.
With increasing regularity things just stopped working.
We bought a new computer from a local dealer who came to the house, installed it for us and showed us how to navigate Windows 11.(Curry's wanted a fortune and wouldn't even come to the house to install it!)
It's been absolutely fine, updates in seconds and we haven't needed any virus protection.
I don't know how it would perform for gaming or big downloads but as we only go on a few secure websites and use basic functions so it's fine for us.

I’m glad it works for you. No OS is flawless or works for everyone.

Sorry for the late reply. 😉

A few months ago when you asked, I did look at some of the articles about the new features, and it mostly seemed to be cosmetic changes on the surface (and probably some benefits to Microsoft and its partners underneath).

Something that concerns me is that Windows 11 has greater hardware requirements than Windows 10. I suspect Microsoft might be including even more stuff that nobody else would consider part of the operating system, because otherwise over time shouldn't the OS become more efficient (in computational cost) rather than less efficient?

My homebuilt tower PC, custom-built to support gaming and music production hobbies (which both have higher than average hardware requirements in different areas), is underpowered to run Windows 11.
