You wouldn't think so would you.

But then that's where the mass murders occurred. Not in private schools, and not in parochial schools either.

The question rises, what is it private schools have that public schools don't that makes it appear that public schools may be fostering an environment conducive to violent behavior?

No doubt you'll say it's because of religion, and Christianity in particular. I know caissad will.
You talk so much, but know so little of me. I do not blame religion for school shootings. Possibly religious extremism could have played a part.
I feel that the easy access to guns coupled with a president who foments hate is the most likely culprit.

    Is Catholic doctrine the truth?
Teaching morals is important, but not according to public schools.

Feel free to blame everything BUT that.

Teaching morals is a parental responsibility .
I am sure you would not want the state to teach morals to your children.

Let me get this right. You do not trust the state to do most anything but you want the state to be a primary source of moral conduct for children.
And then you complain about the state interfering with parental rights ?
It is the responsibility of parents to teach morals to their children.

I agree that it is the parents responsibility to teach children morals, but it is also the job of the teacher.

There is no getting around teaching morality. IF you place children in an amoral environment for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, you are still teaching them lessons on morality, more than likely that it does not really matter.

I'm reminded of a story in the US where a child was raped in study hall. I will never forget the response of the teacher who said, "It is not my job to teach kids morality"

And that is pretty much where we are at as a society. Too often kids don't even get it at home.

    What was the teacher's name?
