Ultracrepidarian
A word I'm sure all of us want to use when speaking of someone else here. 🙂
When responding acknowledge if you had to look it up.
I would have had to if I hadn't seen it else where and its meaning.
A forum like this is filled with these people. So is everyday conversation.
Most people love to give their opinion. Some opinion is educated, most is not, but at least we're all free to give ours.
Others (especially on the internet) are so closed off that they fear giving their own opinion because they don't want to be attacked or exposed as small-minded, and so they lie in wait, until someone else gives their opinion so they can attack it freely, thinking themselves a "predator" instead of "prey".
Sad, really. The internet was born for the free flow of ideas, even some you personally don't agree with. But that is also the beauty of it. Everyone gets to make up their own mind. The ugly side is those who try to get everyone else "on their side" so they have more avenues of attack. What these people are "winning" is beyond me.
So to your word -- ultracrepidarian -- yeah, there are people who talk and talk and talk, and even if they aren't fully educated in the topic, they still have a chance to be heard. This is what free speech is about. It's up to each of us to make up our own minds about it.
