    What is the thinking on this sort of Christian art by Stephen Sawyer?

    https://www.art4god.com/

    Does it have a place in the Christian spiritual life?

    Crass?

    Brilliant?

    Insightful?

    Probably no surprises that I’m not a fan, just to be transparent to start with.

    It is well painted to be fair; just awful in every other way imo.

    Um, er . . . I'm sure he meant well.

    Shouldn't Jesus look half-Jewish and half-Cosmic?

    @divegeester

    In this one, it seems like Jesus is Bogarting that 8-ball [if I am even using that right].

    Jesus is probably quoting Wilson Fisk as we type:

    "It makes me feel alone."

    How to take the core of a theistic idea of love and redemption and utterly destroy it with Americanistic pseudo-spiritual crassness and make a buck on the side.

    While I enjoy it and think the themes and style are powerful, I would not want to see it in a church, but I definitely would not mind seeing it in a person's home.

    Would you have it in your home?

    If I got it for free, I might put it in the computer room, but I think I would maybe be overruled.

    All this said, I don't think there is one "correct" response to art.

    Good art can speak to different people in different ways.
