    Hopefully, this is a common myth propagated by Trump is finally shown to be what it is by the fact that a MUCH greater proportion of US people who take the coronavirus test are now testing positive + more US hospital beds are being filled again and yet again many hospitals are running out of beds for new patients;

    YouTube

    So the apparent increase in new cases can NOT be blamed on more testing.

    The US have led the way with testing.

    The main reason is because Americans aren't self isolating and they continue to spread the virus.

    The US are barely in the race when it comes to testing.
    According to Worldometers list of countries with at least 50 million population:
    UK: 173,000 tests per million population
    Russia: 157,000 tests permillion population
    USA: 126,000 tests per million population

    The US has a bit of catching up to do.
    Apart from that, this virus is so contagious that half a dozen people deliberately breaching the protocols is enough to undo all the good work being done by the decent majority.

    Even that number is way low for ALL those countries. The problem is asymptomatic folks who spread the virus unbeknownst to them they have the virus.
    So the way is to test like once a week EVERYONE. That is the only way we can get a handle on hot spots.

    So what would you propose we do? Throw 99% of the healthy and immune population into solitary confinement so that the 1% of the people with sick immune systems are free to roam about and live free? I got an even better idea -- lock up all alcohol drinkers in order to keep my daughter safe from getting killed by a drunk driver.

    None of the obvious solutions would work. Compromised immune systems are more common than you would think. All grandparents have them, for a start. Then there's people who've had a transplant, and those who have various weakening ailments. Unless you bring back concentration camps there's no way you can isolate all the vulnerable ones.

    But we sure has hell could have handled it better in the US. Trump is so weak, he listens to idiots on Fox News and then makes decisions based on a Hannity story or Rush or Alex Jones. Yeah, MUCH better expertise than that quack Fauci, eh.

    All of Trump's decisions are based on one thing, what's in it for Trump? Don't bother with him, concentrate your energies on making sure his damage is limited to the next 6 months.
