    1. Using the numeral 8 eight times and only addition, make 1,000.

    3. What is next in this sequence?
    1, 7/5, 7/4, 2, 9/4, 5/2, 8/3, 14/5, …

    4. What do the first 100 odd numbers add up to?

    5. There are X teams in a knockout competition. There are some

Tried first 5, stumped on 3 for now!

    1. 888 + 88 + 8 + 8 + 8

    2. This is rugby union? Surely 10 - 10 (2 x tries vs 1 x try, 1 x conversion, 1 x drop goal or penalty)

    4. The 100th is 199, so we have 50 'pairs' each adding to 200. 50 x 200 = 10 000

    5. Each game eliminates 1 team, as 1 team isn't eliminated, must be X-1

    10. 0 instead of O in FOUR.

    6/7. Kids are 334 or 236 or 229 or 149 or 166 or 1,3,12 .
House number must be 10 or 11 or 13 or 14 or 13 or 16.
    House number must be 13.
Kids are 229 or 166. Since one is older than the other two, kids must be 2,2,9.

No idea about 8 or 9.

    All correct.

    4. I wanted someone to actually add them! LOL
Incidentally ... the sum of the first X odd numbers is always X squared.

    8. What is the most common digit in the first one thousand integers?
0 is the least common digit, because it never gets to lead.

The rest are equally common amongst the ones, tens, and hundreds places. However, 1 is the only number that gets a turn in the thousands place, so it is the most common.

    No.
I'll be less sneaky and reword the question.

    9. 2016 has 2, 2017 has 1, 2018 has 3, 2019 has 2.
1777 has none. How many does 2020 have?

I would hazard a guess at 2 .......and, having considered prime factors, number bases and the like, let out a small groan!
