    I'm not familiar with the unit, so I looked it up. It looks like a similar unit megohm-cm is a more common measure of the resistivity of liquids, and the first page I looked at I found this:

    the resistivity of pure water


    I'm still not clear on how that relates to the megohms/square unit

    Ohm = the unit of electrical resistance.

    Megohm = 1 million Ohms.
