whose names are single words containing no other vowel but A?
The letter A may be used any number of times, but no other
vowel may be used at all. (Count Y as a vowel.)

Edit. Fails the single word requirement. Phooey.

Marginal, but okay. Four left are better known. Well... there's Arran
and Aran, but those are both equally as marginal as Sark.

The Falklands, of course, have an 'i' in their name 😛

Mann.
The Chatham Islands unfortunately are never referred to as the Chathams. ðŸ˜

The Chatham Islands unfortunately are never referred to as the Chathams. 😠Man is good. Two more left.
Chatham is okay, but not among the top nine.
We have Bahamas, Japan, Java, Malta, Madagascar, Falklands, and Man.
One of the remaining two is the best known.

Samar, Palawan and Panay in Philippines.
Graham Island in Canada.
Bacan in Indonesia. None makes the cut.
The two remaining islands have been in more than a few movies and TV films.
