As you are in a hotel, I'm surprised you didn't manage to work the old seasonal pun into the blog
"chess nuts boasting in an open foyer"

The RHP bosses are not too happy and have told me to go easy with
the Red Hot Pawn credit card. I've been asked to leave the hotel and
put a tent up on the beach. They had no idea how much this would cost.

When I phoned asking if they could send me they thought I said the match
was in Dunbar which is about 30 miles from Edinburgh and not Dubai.

I think they are going to issue a beautiful chess set.

The pieces are going to be like Dubais' Skyscrapers.

I can't wait for Magnus using the King's Gambit opening on the very first game.

When does the competition actually start?
It says the 24th(today) everywhere but chess 24 says live game 1 posts on the 26th.
Does anyone know if there will be a report with annotations on any site?
I simply don't have the time to watch live

The big opening ceremony is today, the first game on the 26th.

Probably all major chess sites (e.g. chessbase.com) will carry the results.

Magnus' challengers every time is a different player.

He doesn't have a chess Nemesis.

I would like that Nepo becomes the new champion

But it seems Magnus is SUPER strong.

This is his ERA

And maybe now he is in his prime.

But for sure he needs someone equal to him.

Slight mix up. Game one is on Friday. It seems the ticket that I bought
for game one today was a bit of a scam - all will be explained on Friday
when game one will be played.

Dubai is 4 hrs in front of GMT but I don't know the start time without checking
