Greetings players and fellow patzers 🙂

I was coasting fairly comfortably in this game (played on another site).

Two pawns up, got down to an endgame with just Queen and pawns.
All I was focused on was minimising what checks my opponent had,
while I advanced my pawns and looked for mate.

Then suddenly I got slapped in the face by a big wet fish.

    I had Black.

Swindle? This is grand theft chess! You're gonna get a ride downtown and booked for this.

Your next call on a cell phone will only happen if your cell has a phone.

More accurately, I should say that your opponent will get booked. you'll be joining me under an alias in Witness Protection for those of us who occasionally fumble at the goal line.

Good to see I am not alone, at least!

Thank you. It's nice to know others are in this boat. 🙂

Hard luck, that kind of thing's always annoying, but you're in no danger of losing after 55. ... Kg6 56. Qxe4 due to:

I love it when a plan comes together...or falls to bits.
