There was a fight at the Chess Club last night....(using RHP examples)

This weeks Problem. Stripped bare from an RHP position.

This weeks Opening Trap. With, of course, an RHP example.

This weeks Study and two examples of RHP players screwing it up.

I could not do this RHP blog without you lot - keep it up. (Thank You.)

    Hi GP,
didn't get the problem, I had it so it was mate in 2 šŸ™, luckily I spotted the problem with my idea before I posted my alternate non-solution here...

In the note to the 12th move of the trap game you have 12. ... Kxd6 13. Qxc8+ it should be Qxf8+.

    good work, as ever.

    Thanks DeepThought,

Caught slip. The format of Gag, trap, problem and study. seems popular.
I enjoy looking for a study that I know I can find something to link to an RHP
game. Some of these studies are Chess Poetry (I like that I'll use it again.)

So what is the en passant ruling? He has to take the pawn right?!

Here is a RHP game I came across looking through an opponents games: white manages to save a draw in a rook ending 3 pawns down. Don't know how to insert a PGN that starts in the middle of the game but the stalemate threats start around move 77. Game 13654152

You put [ fen "8/6R1/8/5p1r/4pk2/7p/5K2/8 w - - 0 76"] before the game moves you want to keep and delete the rest, click on the PGN button below to see what I did. The game you want to show from its 76th move is:

Note that I wrote the comments as I edited the pgn using the preview post feature and doing the analysis in my head, I haven't checked them with an engine, so if I got something wrong that's why.
