Candidates tournament halted

After 7 rounds of play, FIDE has stopped the Candidates tournament. It is being held in Russia, where it was announced that after today, all commercial flights will be grounded, leaving the players stranded with no way to return home.

It was Radjabov who didn't want the tournament to be held at all. Looks like hindsight is 20/20..

EDIT: I forgot to quote the previous post in my response, so I removed it and did a "do over"!

This is certainly a reasonable explanation for Ding Liren's performance. I was pulling for him, and the tournament so far has been a bummer.

It is Radjabov's position that the Candidates Tournament be held null and void. Then he wants a brand new tournament to take place with him included in the playing field.. Is this self centered?

Easier said than done... not what all the competitors have bargained for , at all. Teimor made his stand, right or wrong, ....IMHO he burned his bridges...
