    Thank you again for providing your insights with some humour and good examples.

    I do have a question about your opening trap: how many moves into an opening a trap wold be called "opening trap"? (And of course how is the trap actually defined after c4 black doesn't Need to take the Knight and as you wrote it is not advisable...)

    Hi Ponderable,

    On average I'd say if the trap is before both sides have castled.

    This is another case of a good move not actually being a Trap.
    A pure opening trap should have bad come back if it is spotted.
    That is why you should not play for Opening Traps. (I do not practise what I preach)

    It's a coincidental Trap. A 'Pitfall' for a player to fall into is a better word but
    everyone uses the word 'Trap'.
