They don't display for me either, despite using a fairly recent version of Firefox (84.0.2). I wonder whether this issue could be related to the change announced at https://www.redhotpawn.com/forum/announcements/maintenance-complete--browser-support-going-forward.189293# .

I have replaced the [fen] with a gif picture as a quick fix for this one
but other, though for some strange not all, blog pages are affected.

In the second game the extra piece goes missing because Nxe5 is a pawn capturenot a piece

First time around I counted to 14...then noticed a piece missing.....eh?
I did figure it out (eventually) but let the comment run as a wee joke.
