Hi mynameisklint
Playing for fun is what this place is all about and if you pick up something
of value along the way then great. I know I have dozens of times. and picked
up more than a few good chess friends along the way.
Occasionally playing 'slightly unsound' (or in my case grossly unsound) is fair game
here. We have to remember it's not an OTB game where our opponent is playing
just one game in quiet surroundings. Here they could be playing dozens and
picking their move on a mobile app whilst travelling on a bus.
One of my favourite unsound moves (blatant trap) was...
Flipperwaldt - Me Rhp 2014
Game 10641135
White has just played 19.Bd3. Now set an unsound trap as Black.
[FEN "2bq1rk1/6bp/1p1p2p1/3Ppp2/1BP1n3/4PN2/2Q1BPPP/R5K1 w - - 0 19"]
19. Bd3 Bf6 {Go on...take the Knight...and the pawn.} 20. Bxe4 fxe4 {Now Nd2 and Black losses an important central pawn.} 21. Qxe4 {OOPS! Now the reason why the Bishop went to f6 becomes clear, it covers h4 .} 21... Bf5 {The Queen is trapped and Black won. (with a Queen sac!)} 22. Qb1 Bxb1 23. Rxb1 e4 24. Nd4 Bxd4 25. exd4 Qf6 26. Rd1 Qxf2+ 27. Kh1 Qf1+
