Minced lamb with leeks, mint and perhaps
peas topped with chunky mash and grilled.
Today I was served a concoction of onion &
beef mince topped with watery mashed potato
and adorned by a slither of burnt tomato!

That was a Cottage Pie.We had a "cottage" in the Laurentian Mountains, north of Montreal, and the only pie we ate there was Ukrainian Blueberry Pie and it always got "glowing" reviews.

That was a Cottage Pie.No excuse for the watery mash potatoes though. I like a Cumberland pie but then I’d eat cheese with cheese.

That was a Cottage Pie.Yep. A dilapidated cottage.
There was no grated cheese topping.
You can't have a cottage without a thatch roof!

How did you get that chunk of cheese in the post?I think they wrapped it well in a baggie, placed it in a box and sent it "priority post" 😲
