    Re: London Genius

    Oxymoron - good word
    interesting etymology.
    But the word you want?
    Obviously tautology.

People giving such IQ scores have not understood the test. The IQ scale ends at 145, which is a score which is reached about 1 time in 10000. Higher scores are not statistically relevant.

So the guy has >145 which is quite a number. However my good wishes are with him, since very high IQ-scoreres often have problems to be succesful...

    The reverse of what?

The IQ is defined roughly as follows:

    * Intelligence follows a normal distribution (Gauss), 98% of people are between 70 and 130.
The smallest and the highest percentile are distributed along the next 15 points. To establish a test to distinguish between people with a probability of less than 1/10000 is not really worth the effort.

The interesting thing is that people today score over 100 on a 50's test.

A low score would make it easier to be successful.

What is the IQ of people posting in this thread? Mine was around 120 many years ago, I’d probably be quite surprised if I did the test again now.

I've never been tested (for my IQ anyway) but if I were to guess, thinking 145 was really "good", ya know like a score in bowling (high), mine would be...what? 43 or 44?
Edit I had originally given myself a 65 and on further thinking I thought "Nah. Lower Stees".

Generally we talk about different kinds of intelligence. What is included in our IQ level?

Just now there is an interesting debate going on about the IQ:
