What would they be most surprised at?

Maybe one thing would be that the majority of human knowledge is available via a device in your pocket, but many of us use it to look at pictures of cats and argue with strangers.

They'd be surprised that the Cold War ended without a nuclear holocaust and that Republicans now adore the Russians.

Money was not really something you discussed openly. When my father bought his first car, it wouldn't have been polite to ask what he paid for it. Also, there were fixed prices, not negotiable. Sales were rare.
