Bitey cheese on pumpernickel or dark rye.
@divegeester saidyou must crisp the bacon and let it cool.
Egg sandwiches are a perfect hangover cure, of sorts. I find the inclusion of bacon can cause complications with bite extraction especially if the egg is slightly runny.
@wolfgang59 saidalso known as a big docker, 2 slices of extra thick cut crusty loaf lathered with butter and filling of your choice.
"banjo" ?
@moonbus saidseconded, with caveat,
Reuben.
@rookie54 saidSome delis have what it takes, some don't. Best dressing IMO is Durkee Sauce.
seconded, with caveat,
i first learned of the reuben at a deli in st louis, after i had taken a job there...
ever since, i have been disappointed in the offerings from other sandwich shoppes and delis, they just haven't been that great...
and don't get me started on that imposter from schlotsky's...
i haven't even been able to recreate it myself...
i think it may have ...[text shortened]... dressing, but, not sure...
i am also handicapped by a palette semi-destroyed by southern cooking...
@kewpie said"Bitey cheese"? I'm guessing this is slang from 'down under' or maybe it's British. I'm right with you on the pumpernickel though.

@moonbus saidThe best delis are either Italian or Jewish. Plenty of both in Philadelphia, where I was born.

I could maybe take a guess what this is, but I can be patient and learn something new. π
@suzianne saidI think it's Aussie slang but I don't know where it came from. It's a very sharp cheddar-style hard cheese.
