Can't make the Stew Pop?

I want to get into Indian spices but the misses has decided she won't like it.
She's never even had Indian food. I love Indian food.

I need a new misses.

I'm good with the meat and everything tastes good but all together it blands out a bit.

I'm thinking more garlic and more peppers.
I have all of the ingredients that everyone suggested so I just need a better recipe.

Except for that Marmite fellow. Good God that's disgusting.

Overcooking (or using ingredients that are, themselves, overcooked) is what often makes food bland.

I'm not talking about simmering all day (if you do this, keep the (vented) lid on), I'm talking overcooked, to the point where it affects the texture.

I'm sorry to have to remove my post. It was a recipe from FB that we had for Sunday dinner. Unfortunately it was a good friend's recipe and I don't think she would be happy having her name at this site.
