@great-big-steessaid In 1964 my then girlfriend was a big Beatles fan so I got tickets for their Sept 16th concert at Montreal's Forum. There was so much screaming you couldn't hear the music. She loved it anyway, I was less enthusiastic. 🙂
Were there many men in the audience? I don't think they did very many Canadian Cities did they? I never really followed them as Elvis was big back then the King of rock'n roll they called him! 😉
On February 9th, 1964, The Beatles, with their Edwardian suits and mop top haircuts, made their first American television appearance—LIVE—on The Ed Sullivan Show. A record setting 73 million people tuned in that evening making it one of the seminal moments in television history.
( I did watch them perform on that show but forget what song they did).

@great-big-steessaid Although not a "BIG" Beatles fan (I was/am a Stones fan) my fav was the White Album. I know....who cares. 😉
I never get tired of the White Album Stees. It is interesting and will always catch my ear. As will the rest of their music. I have a double album "Live at the BBC" which features some of their very early music and is absolutely captivating.
I know there are Beatles detractors but there is no denying their place in history. Very cool.

When you hit # 1 again after 50 years, you must have been doing something right.
Lets just say the Beatles weren't my cup of tea, "pun intended"!! 😉

That is one point with big succeses: If it becomes a classic it will endure and if it fed with additional marlers (first, last, fastest,...) and a bit of conspiracy theory you can revive someting to another economic success.
So my kudoss to the Beatles who had been a great band.
And a tip of the hat to the people who make the money now and never contributed more than another marketing gag...
