I think the law says it is her money now. We are a nation of laws. What is everyone's 'societal' take on this...our being all brothers and sisters, such as that. What should she do with the money. Could be some interesting answers.

I can't say that I see the problem. I don't understand the part "catching plane". She flew in so what?

If she won its her money and she can do what ever she wants. Probably a good idea to buy a home (if she hasn't has one). And it would be nice to give some money for her preferred social cause. her church (if she attends one) might be expecting 10% also...

Good God Almighty. I send out one feature out about a woman that won 300,000, kind of pointed it at the Suzya nes of the World who think that’s not fair. But look what you come back with!!!!!!! Women controlling bodies??? I will definitely be showing this thread to my coffee buddies in the morning they will laugh their guts out. I'm not just saying this, that is exactly what I would be doing. Good stuff. One cannot help but to invest money, so that it will grow for their families, their communities, to fund our chosen leaders in their quests to mangage all the citizens fairly. Tithe to the church. Give your time to young people so that they too will learn to invest in their lives.
Of course profit will be made in any crisis, one can choose to be an investor in time of crisis or bury their money for whatever reason,. Eg, the pandemic is giving pause to people 'touching'money. So, will it disappear? Probably. What takes its place? Venmo, PayPal. Nothing ever stands still.

A number of studies have been done on big lottery winners. Very few of them use the money for their own long-term benefit, because managing large sums is a skill which hasn't been learned or even been offered to ordinary working people.
