It should be the UN that acts not “western countries” ideally utilising non partisan African forces.
China will have just as much responsibility as the rest of a world that stands by with its collective thumb up it’s rear end.

“ The UN failed to intervene to stop a real genocide in 1994 Rwanda.
I don't expect the UN to intervene over Tigray in 2021.”
    Me neither, depressing isn’t it.
But at least an attempted resolution might flush out any state actors and interests out with the immediate vicinity of the conflict. If it’s genuine apathy in the face of what’s happening that’s possibly even more depressing.

I do not fail to grasp anything duchess, I never actually do fail to grasp anything.
When has the magnitude of an invasion ever stopped it happening, it hinges on the value placed on the goal of invasion versus the effort required.
What we are seeing is the world ( note not just western countries ) turning away from a potential genocide.
UN backed censure and serious short term sanctions would probably be enough to pull the state actors back from thiis.
You fail to grasp that a UN peace keeping force is not an invasion force and will only be operating in Tigray in order ensure the safety of all ethnic groups.

Yes I grasped that as soon as I heard about the conflict and I mentioned the consent required for a peace keeping force to operate in Tigray. You are the one raising the option of an invasion, as far as I’m aware I haven’t mentioned the option at all.
Have you stumbled across a chestful of old straw men in your belfry.
I have never advocated invasion of any kind, I’ve said that there are steps the UN can take if they choose to take them. Any kid of concerted UN based pressure would be better than nothing.
I take it you believe that sovereignty trumps any kind of human rights concerns.
It’s nice that you can agree with the Israeli government for a change.

You may be right. Interesting philosophical food for thought.

In relation to Tigray, it is constitutionally backed by Ethiopia's constitution for them to be semi autonomous.
And Tigray is semi autonomous with Ethiopia's blessings. BUT, when the Tigray army, the TPLA, attacked two Ethiopian
military bases - one in the Tigray capital of Mekele, the war was on. Hey, if Tigray wins their total independence
from Ethiopia the way Eritrea did, good luck to them. My personal opinion is, they are getting squashed and will lose.
Ethiopia has long since assigned Tigray new civilians to take rule in Tigray, and yes, they were hand picked loyalists.

Yes I can grasp that, I’m sure I mentioned that the agreement of the state actors involved would be a requirement for any UN peace keeping force. Can the duchess grasp that Ethiopia might want a way out of this bloodletting. If, on the other hand, it shows that it would prefer the rape and genocide of the Tigray people then the UN could use severe sanctions and any diplomatic pressure it can muster.

I do not pretend to know what the UN will do, I’m just pointing that their are things it can do.

“ Some Americans are calling for a form of UN intervention in the USA
with regard to police violence against African Americans.”

Sometimes your ridiculously idiotic comparisons are beyond an intelligent reply.
