a win for states rights and a win for babies
lets be clear, the ruling did not ban abortion, so quit lying about that

@mott-the-hoople saidWhat the ruling does or does not do is subject of debate.

@mott-the-hoople saidSo I'm sure, since you are so concerned about unwanted babies, that following on the heels of this decision will be a similar decision guaranteeing the right of women everywhere to full and unfettered access to birth control.

You can NOT have one without the other. Otherwise, welcome to the Republic of Gilead.
Who am I kidding? You conservative ...[text shortened]... always had a hard-on for the stick you can use to control women. Thanks for nothing, Donald.
@athousandyoung saidYou left out the best part...
They have a cycle they want to encourage:
Woman is financially pressured
Rich man attracts her with his money and the promise of financial security
They have sex, woman gets pregnant
Man abandons woman because he refuses to pay for the child and often he doesn’t want his wife to find out
(There have even been cases where he abandons her because her vag h ...[text shortened]... iological reproduction game
Woman, her kid and men who are not rich all suffer from this dynamic
@sleepyguy saidWomen just need to stand up, stand together, and Just Say No.
You left out the best part...
Man then decides he's a woman and kicks woman's ass in sports. Yay men!
@suzianne saidWell, there's an upside to that too.
Women just need to stand up, stand together, and Just Say No.
@sleepyguy saidYour charming attempt to change the subject is noted.

@sleepyguy saidThese behavior patterns are worldwide.

@suzianne saidNo policy can be sustained without substantial support from women. In places where abortion is restricted or outlawed in the US, a substantial share of women in that area agree with that policy. Maybe not a majority, but a substantial minority. Women are over 50% of the vote. No policy can pass without substantial support from women in the location.
Women just need to stand up, stand together, and Just Say No.
@athousandyoung saidOK. I'm certainly in favor of requiring fathers to support their offspring.
These behavior patterns are worldwide.
@sleepyguy saidThe potential slippery slope here is to what extent do we want the State to force men to take paternity tests?
OK. I'm certainly in favor of requiring fathers to support their offspring.
@athousandyoung saidNot a big deal. If a woman brings a paternity lawsuit, the defendant man can either take a test, use other evidence to prove he's not the father or concede. That's the way it is now, like with any other lawsuit.

The same “freedom loving pro life” rich men who dominate politics are also opposed to the State forcing them to do anything…including gathering their genetic data.
@sh76 saidSo he takes the test and it turns out he’s not the father.
