Yeah, you believe in the socialist definition of private vs public.
I believe public is defined as government, private is anything not private.
From a free speech standpoint, there are ongoing legal arguments that facebook is a public forum and therefore censorship is illegal. In a public forum, the government has access to that information.
If facebook is a private company, which I think it is, then it should be able to ban, censor, curate the content however they wish. They've chosen as a platform to publicize users posts, so of course the government is going to monitor that.
If you want something to remain private, don't post it on an open access social media platform.
