Taxpayer money is used by the government to fund vaccine courts. American taxpayers pay it. You act like government is some money tree that gives without taxing people.

Both of them were liable for the drugs and talcum powder and it didn't stop innovations. If vaccines are an exception then logic would dictate every vaccine manufacturer in the entire world has exemption from lawsuits. Is that the case? If not, prove innovation has been stifled in countries where vaccine makers are still liable.

Yes if it takes tax payers money to facilitate the development of the life saving vaccine that I took the other day then I, as a taxpayer of about 48 years, am quite happy about that.
One solution would be to tax the crap out of big pharma whilst taking an honest assessment of their R & D costs into account.

Talcum powder is a cancer causing event to you fool. Try to convince women that hiding the cancer causing nature of talcum powder is not a big deal because babies are disposable. They put it on their babies bottoms. Do you think they would have done that if they knew it would cause cancer?

SOME talcum powder in the past contained a small amount of asbestos which is a known cancer cause but the risk for pure talcum powder is very low, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Merck should not be making vaccines or having anything to do with making things while not being liable. They have demonstrated they cannot be trusted.
If you don't support repealing the 1986 act you should make exceptions for those that knowingly sold products they knew were unsafe. You have to draw the line somewhere. If the mafia made vaccines would that be okay?
I don't know anything about the 1986 act. That is all up to the congress to repeal.
